Apple is adding more intelligence to eligible iPhones with the iOS 18.2 software update, which according to Bloomberg, is arriving on December 2. This includes the most anticipated ChatGPT-powered Siri.
Priced at $20 or Rs 1,950 a month, ChatGPT Plus enables the latest iPhone users to unlock the full potential of Apple Intelligence. While features like Writing Tools and Image Playground will work without a ChatGPT Plus subscription, without it, Siri will have very limited capabilities, which has been one of the highlights of Apple Intelligence.
A report by 9to5Mac now suggests that the same update will also enable users to subscribe to ChatGPT Plus directly from the settings app.
For now, there is no additional discount for those who take this route to subscribe to ChatGPT Plus. In fact, users can get the best value when subscribing to ChatGPT Plus from a web browser.
Although ChatGPT-infused Siri can be used without needing a subscription, the tool will limit access to the latest GPT models and will also put a limit on functionalities like image generation, document analysis, and web browsing. Whereas, a user with a ChatGPT Plus subscription will get the best possible revamped Siri experience.
The same monthly amount of Rs 2,000 will also apply to those who intend to use the new Siri on their Apple Intelligence-supported iPad and Mac.
